What to bring to your DOT physical
Bring a photo ID, your glasses or contacts if you wear them, your hearing aids if you use them, and a complete list of your medications with the prescribing doctor. If you use a CPAP, bring your compliance report. If you have diabetes, bring a recent A1C. If you have a heart condition, bring the clearance letter from your cardiologist. Missing paperwork is the single most common reason a driver has to come back a second time.
How long it takes
Most exams take about thirty minutes. You leave with your certificate in hand the same day, unless something found during the exam requires records from another doctor first.
Blood pressure and your certificate
Blood pressure directly affects how long a certificate can be issued for. If yours is high on the day of the exam we will recheck it, talk through what is going on, and explain exactly what your options are — we do not simply fail you and send you away.

Do I need an appointment for a DOT physical?
No, you can walk in. Booking a time online through Tebra means less waiting, which most drivers prefer.
How long is the certificate good for?
Up to two years, but it can be shorter if you have a condition that needs monitoring — high blood pressure and diabetes are the most common reasons for a one-year card.
What if I fail?
Most issues are fixable. We explain what is disqualifying, what documentation would resolve it, and what to do next. Many drivers come back with the right paperwork and certify without a problem.
